Local Law of Intro No. Introduction No. The New York City Energy Conservation Code is one of the Construction Codes that protects public health, safety, general welfare, and the environment by establishing minimum standards for the design, construction, and occupancy of buildings. All revisions to the Energy Code must be incorporated into a local law that is approved by the New York City Council and signed into law by the Mayor.

The progress inspector s must certify on this form that the as-built values for energy in the building match the values ecccys the last-approved Energy Analysis. Pursuant to Section 3 of the New York State Energy Law, other code, rule or regulation heretofore promulgated or enacted by any fcccnys agency other than the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council, incorporating specific energy conservation requirements applicable ecccnjs the construction of any building, shall be superseded by the Energy Code.

If the provisions of Article 11 of the New York State Energy Law, as in effect at the time of any alteration , renovation or repair to an existing building, require that such building be exempt from this code, then such alteration , renovation or repair to such building need not comply with this code.
