This module has 12 Discrete input points, with internally connected commons. Input channels belong to a single group with a common intended for the odd number inputs Channels 1, 3,5,7,9, 11 and another AC common for even number inputs Channels 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, These commons are internally connected. The IM12 occupies a single slot in the chassis and shall be installed with a maximum of Eight 8 modules away from the power supply. It has a current draw of mA 5. Themodule does not support Hot-swap feature.

This component is installed after the rightmost module of the chassis that terminates the communication bus voltage. The ECR is basically a terminating resistor. It consumes the excess voltage generated by an open connection in the chassis.
The component closes this connection by consuming the voltage thus providing feedback to the CPU that the last module has been established.
With the ECL installed, Processor communication may be established. The ECR is an electrostatic sensitive device as it contains electronic components installed on a PCB board housed by the component. Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential or wear an appropriate wrist strap. Do not attempt to touch the conductors and electronic components while in the process of insertion. Store the component in a static safe location or place in a static protection plastic or bag.
Alternatively, work on a static safe station. The ECR is installed on the right side of the chassis or after the rightmost module. Slide the component from the top aligned with the last module.
Switch the bus lever to establish connection to the bus. If restriction is felt, verify alignment of the component and ensure each of the contacts are not deformed.
The module cannot be installed or uninstalled in an actively powered CompactLogix system. It does not support hot-swap feature therefore, install this component only when power is shut-off. Do not attempt to install and uninstall the component on a powered or functioning system.
Performing this may render the system unresponsive, switch to an uncontrollable state or completely shut down. It is used to terminate the communication bus. This module is installed after the righmost module of the chassis. Product Specifications.
